As part of a wider, multi-site redecoration programme, Igloo was appointed to carry out staircase refurbishment works at Worcester Police Station.

Scope of Works

The staircase areas at Worcester Police Station had deteriorated over time, particularly in the upper sections of the building, impacting the overall appearance of the space. As part of a multi-site redecoration programme, Igloo carried out the following works:

Full preparation of all staircase surfaces prior to redecoration

Redecoration of all staircase areas, including hard to reach areas requiring specialist access

Thorough treatment of all areas to ensure a safe, effective and lasting finish

Challenges & Solutions

A key challenge on this project was the extent of deterioration in the upper areas of the staircase, where standard access methods would not have been sufficient. To address this, high-level access equipment was utilised, enabling our team to carry out full preparation and redecoration works safely and effectively across all areas, including those most difficult to reach.

Key Outcomes

The refreshed finishes have significantly improved the visual quality of the space, restoring a clean and professional appearance throughout the staircase areas. In addition to the aesthetic improvement, the works have brought these areas back up to the standard expected of a well-maintained public sector building, all with minimal disruption to the day-to-day operation of the site.
