Case Study:

West Mercia PCC, Kidderminster Police Station

Full Office Refurbishment

Igloo Property Group was appointed by West Mercia PCC to carry out a full internal refurbishment of Kidderminster Police Station, delivering a workspace that supports staff productivity and aligns with current workplace standards.

As an established refurbishment partner to West Mercia Police, Igloo was well placed to deliver the project with the security awareness and operational sensitivity the environment requires.

Scope of Works

1. Decoration & Finishes

Full internal redecoration throughout, with new finishes applied to walls, ceilings, and joinery to create a clean, refreshed appearance across all areas.

2. Flooring

New floor finishes installed throughout, including carpet tiles to office and corridor areas and heavy-duty resilient vinyl flooring to welfare and washroom facilities.

3. Lighting

Upgraded lighting across all areas of the building, improving brightness and energy efficiency throughout the workspace.

4. Fire Doors

New fire doors installed throughout the building to meet current fire safety compliance requirements.

5. Toilet & Washroom Refurbishment

Full refurbishment of the toilet and washroom facilities, including new sanitaryware, cubicle systems, and associated plumbing works. Existing pipework was re-routed to provide a cleaner, neater finish throughout.

6. Kitchen & Welfare Fit Out

New kitchen fit out installed, including high gloss cabinetry, dark worktops, integrated appliances, and new flooring, providing staff with a modern and practical welfare area.

7. Reconfiguration of Areas

Reconfiguration of spaces across the building to improve layout and functionality, creating a more efficient working environment better suited to the operational needs of the station.

Challenges & Solutions

Internal corridor with dark grey carpet, white walls, and a radiator, featuring double grey fire doors with vision panels and a single light oak timber door in a modern building.

The existing office spaces at Kidderminster Police Station were dated, inefficient, and no longer suited to modern working requirements. The building required significant investment to bring it up to current workplace standards and ensure it could continue to serve the operational needs of the force effectively.
